The training event ran throughout the autumn term in a range
of venues across the country. Once again it focused on innovative
ways of approaching English teaching and provided a variety of
classroom resources to support teachers in their work.
With over 400 teachers attending, the course evaluations showed
75% of delegates rating the course Very Good, 24.6% rating it
Good and 0.4% rating it Satisfactory. Comments included:
- Excellent as usual. Totally relevant, designed to bring out
the best in pupils without imposing masses of extra work on teachers.
Manchester
- Brilliant! Presentation most engaging and resources
fabulous - as always. Makes me excited about going back to
school and trying it all out. Chorley teacher
- Excellent. Good, practical
ideas. Especially pleased because the course addressed
ways of teaching lower ability kids. Plymouth teacher
- Superb - totally
relevant; innovative ideas; at times challenging ideas
(but helpful in forcing critical thought about how best to address/meet
AQA GCSE criteria). Tiverton teacher
- Plenty of variety in presentation of materials - powerpoint,
talk, group discussion, prepared sheets, video extracts. A
very good day - interesting and packed with practical advice.
Thank you. Soton teacher
- Most useful and inspirational. Will be able
to use most of this in my programmes of work. Always find
your ideas very useful. London teacher
